International Aviation Academy of New Zealand
Established in 1928, the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand (IAANZ) is the Professional flight training division of New Zealand's largest Aero Club, the Canterbury Aero Club.It holds New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) and the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (NZ CAA) Part 141 approval for flight training.
The Academy is unique in that it operates from a large international airport, with full instrument approach aids. The experience gained in this airline environment gives the graduates in the academy a significant advantage when pursuing an aviation career. Training is provided in their own airfield for ab-inito training and at a fully operational International Airport for advanced training.
They have around 75 years of flight training experience.
2. Location and facilities
Located in Christchurch City at The Harewood Aviation Park, on the West side of Christchurch International Airport, about 8km from the centre of the city. The Club is unique in that it has access to both a grass runway located directly in front of the Club's buildings and to two international standard sealed runways. They have around 75 years of flight training experience.
The academy has its own exclusive airfield for students in early stages of training, as well as access to Christchurch International Airport for more advanced training.
