Upon completion of the sUAS Commercial Remote Pilot Training participants will complete the FAA written exam to receive a Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) certificate from the FAA. Attendees will be able to:

  • Adhere to FAA rules and regulations pertinent to small unmanned aircraft operations
  • Complete the FAA written examination
  • Set up small unmanned aircraft operations within FAA regulations
  • Apply safety practices during flight of small unmanned aircraft
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of UAV flight
COURSE DETAILS

Each day will begin at 8:00 am. Full schedule details are sent upon registration.

Attendees will receive a total of 4 hours of flight time. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own unmanned aircraft vehicle. A limited number of aircraft are available to rent at an additional charge of $240.

Registration fee includes all course instruction, materials, flight time, consultation, and feedback from instructors on policies and procedures drafted. FAA exam is an additional charge of $150.

DISCOUNTS AND REGISTRATION FEE SCHOLARSHIP

A discounted rate is offered for companies sending multiple attendees. Discounts are tied to number of attendees as follows:

For companies sending more than four employees, discounts will be applied in the same increments as indicated above.

A discounted registration rate of $700 is offered to current students and higher education faculty and staff. To be eligible for the academia discount, individuals should complete a scholarship application form and submit proof of their involvement in academia by the registration deadline. COURSE LOCATION

Flight instruction will take place in the newly constructed UAS Flight Pavilion at Kansas State Polytechnic in Salina, Kansas. Measuring 300-feet-long by 200-feet-wide and 50-feet-tall, the structure is one of the largest enclosed unmanned flight facilities in the nation.

TRAVEL

If you are traveling east or west on I-70, stay on I-70 until the I-70/I135 interchange. Travel south on I-135 to the Magnolia St. exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia to Centennial Rd. Turn right and proceed to the K-State Polytechnic campus.

If you are traveling north or south on I-135, take the Magnolia St. exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia to Centennial Rd. Turn right and proceed to the K-State Polytechnic campus.
